observer
Let's hope so; but I'm afraid the French, like other Europeans, will return to type - and capitulate to German (EU) dominance.
observer
Janis Varoufakis, who led the failed negotiations to get a deal for Greece, out of the EU; has said that there will be no Brexit deal; clearly a statement of the glaringly obvious. So the only question is, are the Tories prepared to walk away from the table rather than suffer EU inflicted humiliation?
observer
One of the EU's chief negotiators has said, that if the UK backs off and decides to stay in the EU; it will be on far worse terms than previously.
Confused52
Try finding that gem in the treaties, it isn't there. There is no indication that we cannot withdraw Article 50 Notification and the mere issuing of notification is not actually leaving. More tosh. Davy51
I think every little gem of nastiness & barbed comments that these Eurocrats lace their threats with are proof positive that the future of the UK is outside the corrupt EU.
asperity
Correct Davy, their every utterance shows them up to be the nasty dictators that they are. Whatever the consequences we're better off out.
observer
Seems we've hired a Kiwi as one of our main negotiators; perhaps he'll train our team to do a haka and scare the s$$t out of the opposition ? !

fugtifino
So, how're the negotiations going so far then?
observer
I doubt they'll be going anywhere. We have to be seen to get a bad deal, as a warning to the rest .
observer
Seems the Unions and the PLP back stabbers are insisting we stay in the single market. Single market = free movement = immigration; so we'll still be in the EU' costing us £billions, but without any political representation; and these are the folk who aspire to govern us. observer
Seems the infection is spreading to our Tory negotiators, who are now back tracking on Brexit and ready to sell us out.
Davy51
At least they are talking about enforcing the fishing limit once Brexit is complete.
observer
... and no doubt the first dispute will be ruled on by the ECoJ.
asperity
Just about sums up the BBC view of Brexit!
observer
The Remoaners haven't stopped drip feeding the doom and gloom, since they lost the referendum. But the idiots that voted for pro-Remain MPs in the G/Election have now emboldened them to renege on Brexit. There is no such thing as a hard or soft Brexit, we either Leave or we don't. LEAVE means, leaving the single market (removing the right to free movement), leaving the customs union (allowing us to have trade agreements with the rest of the world); and leaving the ECoJ ( allowing us to control our own legal system). Anything less, and we're still in the EU.
Evil Sid
A thought occurs. If you buy a defective product or one that does not do what it says it should then you are entitled to your money back. So as the EU has not performed as per spec can we get all our money back?
observer
Seems Davis has agreed in principle, that we will owe money to the EU (AFTER we leave); this to an organisation that hasn't had it's books signed off by auditors for over 10 years; an organisation that we have been the second highest net funder of for 40 years; and one that retains assets that we have paid towards. All part of the humiliation they clearly wish to inflict on us, aided and abetted by their 5th columnist Remoan supporters in our Parliament. asperity
If the EU don't come to an agreement with us before we leave then we would be liable to pay nothing.
observer
The question is Asp; who on the British side has got the back bone to walk out on them, given the spineless Remoaner MPs waiting to disrupt any deal.
asperity
The Paul Simon Brexit Plan: ‘You just slip out the back, Jack Make a new plan, Stan You don’t need to be coy, Roy Just get yourself free Hop on the bus, Gus You don’t need to discuss much Just drop off the key, Lee And get yourself free’

observer
That Verhofstad is their Chief negotiator, clearly a non-rational liberal, wishing to milk the UK.
observer
Some elements of the media are quite slow to catch on, just read a report that the EU is out to punish us as an example to the rest - err a no brainer, been saying it for years - just walk away from the table and LEAVE.
