Canterlever Garden Centre

Recommended Posts

Hi All

I have had this nagging question inside my head for days ,but no amount of googling can help.

So here goes..

As a child my Mum took me to the Garden Centre I think it may have been the opening?

And this famous gardener did the honours,He had a "Jimmy Edwards Type" moustache and he was certainly famous judging by the turnout.

But I can't remember his name :|

Can anyone one shed any light ???

Found a chap called Christopher Lloyd (not the one from Back to the future)... he was a bit well known as a gardener and had a moustache too

I think I've found him.... chap called Harry Wheatcroft.... he was known as "The King of the Roses" back in the 1960's and he ticks all the boxes; era and Jimmy Edwards style moustache!!
