PJ ,well said about the indigenous population depleting the finances, It is many of our own people that should taken out of benefits & put into full time, meaningful jobs so there is no need for these so called essential workers from abroad. Saving billions from the benefits bill would be the shot in the arm this country needs, but successive lazy governments over the last 30 years have taken the easy way out of confrontational politics by welcoming workers from abroad to save upsetting the electorate who have been doing very nicely out of the "lack of work" related benefits system.

So at the rate of a million plus each 3 or 4 years, which has been going on for some time now; if we accept your assertion that they're all in well paid jobs, they'll afford cars too.

Cars aren't that expensive nowadays, loads coming in from outside the EU (wonder how?!); think there cheaper too, in Poland etc ! Cars are deemed essential nowadays, increase the population = increase the cars, on an Island of finite space. Gov Departments and Local Authorities have to plan for housing land provision, schools provision etc on the basis of probable increases in population and demographics; problem is, with a sharp rise in population due to uncontrolled migration, they can't keep up, thus public services will become inadequate.

PS Cars are more expensive in Poland then UK, Poland was the second most expensive place to buy a car in the EU a few years ago I am not sure if it is still true. There was a thriving trade of buying cheaper RHD cars in the up, importing them to Poland, moving the controls over and reselling them. Still happens with trucks.

Aren't Albanian prisoners sent back to their own country to do their sentences there? We have a bilateral agreement and of the 180 Albanians in British prisons over a hundred were eligible and sent back.  Google is your friend Observer.

A set of false plates and an epic 24 hour drive will see nice UK cars under new ownership anywhere in Europe, in the Ukraine there's even a law that if you buy a vehicle which turns out to be stolen it's still legally yours...

There are still taxes to be paid on cars you import whether your a company or individual, you also need to make technical changes.

 

Some countries make it very difficult to import cars, 

 

It is not that much more difficult to export a car to New Zealand for example (although far more expensive due to shipping).

 

I admit there are advantages of belonging to the EU, I recall our lorries being stuck sometimes for weeks at European boarders before Schenger, Italy was one of the worst, but you need to weigh up advantages over disadvantages and in any case the UK does not belong to Schenger.
