New Runcorn Bridge

Recommended Posts

OK not local but has an impact on use here in Warrington.

Today it was in the news while tested the bridge failed, the bit i am curious about is that the bridge that is being built to reduce congestion is a opening bridge that will be lifted to let ships in and out of the ship canal, have I got this right?

How will that solve congestion?

I think the bridge that was on the news today that failed was next to Barton Bridge at Trafford Park.

ok, i got it wrong, i am an idiot.

still the idea of a lifting bridge is stupid, i guessing it is a main road the bridge will serve.

You are not an idiot. I think it was new road being built on Trafford Park or Barton Dock so local traffic didn't have to use the motorway to cross the MSC & add to to vehicles already on the M60.
