Reading the article about the council leader berating the government about their decision on the route on HS2 on todays front page.

LEADER of Warrington Borough Council Terry O’Neill has branded the government as “irresponsible” over its failure to announce the final route of the HS2 high speed railway in the Warrington area.

So then by that standard what of the upcoming site for the "Travellers" that our own council are keeping quiet about. is that not classed as the same action "irresponsible". At least with the HS2 we have some vague idea of where it is likely to go, not so with the traveller site.

Maybe because no one is going to lose votes in the local elections over Hs2 - but they probably will if they reveal the proposed travellers site before the elections - or am I just being cynical?

If they honestly think that they can keep the site of the traveller camp secret until it suits them they're kidding themselves, people don't walk round with their eyes shut.

It will have to be surveyed, test holes dug, soil samples taken, power and drainage planned, all accompanied by endless paperwork.

Somebody will spill the beans, be sure of it.
