P J
Well as the World War 3 has started I will await my call up papers through the post lol. Off to build an Anderson shelter and chop down the Town Hall gates for the War effort.
P J
p.s. This obviously can't be a World War as America was involved at the start.

Davy51
To be honest, i think it is a bit pathetic that the government are having to wait for parliamentary approval to attack a hostile force that is knocking on the door of the UK. These thugs, with all their brand new equipment funded by Allah knows who ,are the biggest threat to peace for many years. These killers need to be ruthlessly despatched to their twisted paradise post haste. With the major powers drawn into the combat zone the situation is no less dangerous than any of stand offs produced by the Cold War. asperity
Dave has promised to send an aircraft carrier to the region (when we finish building it )
observer
As ISIL start to be defeated in Syria and Iraq, they will switch (in fact are already switching), from that conventional war to a worldwide strategy of terror attacks; which will last as long as their crazy ideology can produce converts from amongst Islam. 1
Dizzy
According to lunchtime news we don't even have the military resources to look for a Russian Sub off the coast of Scotland since all our cuts as US and French planes have had to look for it for us over the past week. Well done Dave and cronies !!
Davy51
You do know that we are bombing IS don't you? In Iraq i believe, but i'm trying to highlight the lack of urgency all round in despatching these maniacs to the hereafter. I know Dave is trying to observe all the legalities & niceities of liquidating these scum in a gentlemanly manner ,but these a888holes are not gentlemen. Besides the ignominy of losing a commons vote on the subject would be nothing compared to any ensuing atrocities that may occur as a result of Britain's inaction. observer
Dave, get it into perspective: our contribution to the bombing effort is minimal in any case, about half a dozen aircraft flying from Cyprus. The Yanks have supposedly been bombing for the past 12 months or so, with minimal results, compared to the recent Russian strikes. At the end of the day, air power cannot win alone, boots have to be deployed to take the ground. Now I'm not saying the West needs to deploy the boots (save the Special Forces already there); but we should be training and arming the Kurds, and getting the Regional players to commit. As for the legalities: technically, there is no article 7 directive from the UN, permitting attacks within a sovereign State (IE Syria); but the French will be using the right of self defence argument following the Paris bombing. If the West could get over itself, and start supporting Assad, ISIL could be terminated as a conventional force within months.
Bazj
It's OK.... Jeremy is going to go over and arrest all of those nasty terrorist types and bring them back to face British justice.... which means a slap on the wrist and an ASBO
Davy51
Assad does seem to be the best option no matter what he has done to upset the west over the years.Who knows, the west may learn not to meddle in the politics of the region once all this mess is sorted out. observer
The West may learn to get back (if it's possible) to the days of tolerating autocrats, where the alternative is medieval theocratic anarchy; after all they've done it with Saudi for some time ! It's all about the lesser evil at the end of the day.
P J
Yeah let's all get behind Russia bombing Syria, I mean, what could possibly go wrong?
observer
What has gone wrong, is that Turkey has just shot down a Russian plane on behalf of their ISIL mates, if Russia replies, it will be an attack on NATO; then we can get our money's worth out of Trident !
P J
What has happened is a NATO jet attacked and downed a Russian jet. Perhaps you will get your desired WW3 after all.
P J
is that Turkey has just shot down a Russian plane on behalf of their ISIL mates, what a stupid statement.
observer
I've certainly no desire for WW3, but no doubt luvvie myopia will lead us into one eventually ! As for the Turks, you trust them if you want, I don't.
P J
What a fool. You call folk myopic when you are completely blinded by hatred and bigotry.
observer
In your confused opinion - however, your the fool.
P J
Really, your claim, based on God knows what, that Turkey are secretly allied with ISIS against Russia is probably about the most foolish claim I have heard regarding Syria . You wouldn't care to qualify it with a bit of evidence would you?
observer
Didn't say "they were secretly allied with ISIS"; I implied that's where their sympathies lie. The ruling Party in Turkey is a theocratic one; it's obsessed with eradicating the Kurds and the secular Gov of Syria (both fighting ISIL); and it's turned a blind eye, and in fact used the migrant flow as a lever for blackmailing the EU. So yes; an absolutely devious set of Turkeys. Only the naïve would say otherwise.
P J
As I expected, pathetic guess work at best. Not a shred of evidence but hey, when did that ever stop you.
observer
Evidence: a shot down plane and two Russian pilots shot - by the Turks and Rebels. Just hope Barrack and Dave don't fall for it like you, otherwise we're all toast.
