Davy51
It seems the western coalition are at last waking up to the fact that the little fracas in the middle east is more of a problem than at first thought. The muslim against muslim thinking to combat the IS forces is not working out as they expected ,which is not surprising really as Russia found the same problem when the sent forces from their muslim states to fight the mujihadin who were the forerunners of Al Qaeda & IS. It looks like the folly of Uncle Sam's involvement in the area will probably result in even more western troops on the ground ,but this time up against a much better organised opponent. observer
Whilst air power alone cannot win a ground war; the current air campaign by the West can hardly be described as "shock and awe". The Iraqi Army may be a liability, surrendering valuable equipment to IS, but the Kurds and Shia militias appear up to the job, if properly supported. Davy51
It seems that Obama & his government are more interested in FIFA & Putin than the growing threat from ISIS. Perhaps he's trying to turn a blind eye to the problem in the hope that the rest of the world will forget that America played a massive part in destabilising the middle east.
