observer Posted August 29, 2014 Author Report Share Posted August 29, 2014 I'll agree with your latter point Asp; from local to national Government, to Brussels; highly paid civil servants (highly paid cos their political masters allow it), in safe jobs with golden good-byes etc; have run public services. Having said that, similar conditions exist at the top of private companies (eg: the banks); where the share holders have failed to curb such excesses. Davy51 Posted August 30, 2014 Report Share Posted August 30, 2014 But surely it would benefit society as a whole to have more nationalised jobs because by their very nature nationalised companies employ more labour by being less efficient.Maybe nationalisation would help to reduce the benefit culture by soaking up some of the participants in that scheme & giving them a sense of belonging to the labour market again ,thus improving their self esteem.
