Wirewire
From the squad announced, here's the team I'd select:- Ratchford Riley C Atkins Bridge Monas J Myler O'Brien Asotasi Higham Hill Waterhouse Westwood Currie Monas M England Riley G Dwyer This early in the season, very difficult to predict the result, especially as I think Saints could be the team to beat this year. However, with my Primrose & Blue specs on I'm going for a Wire win by 8 points and J Monas to score first.
Gary
It is worrying that we have so many players missing before the season starts. Too tough to call this one especially as the weather will have some impact!

Sheila_P
I too feel that Saints will win, though I hope not. My brain is a bit scrambled with all the personnel changes, so I can't get even anticipate how well we will do this season, at the moment. In Smith we trust. Latchford Locks
The new players will need time to settle, dont know how it will pan out.
Sheila_P
I agree, Latch. I think I'll find the season more exciting than the last few, when we could go to the match and normally expect the lads to win. I don't expect too much from them this season. Latchford Locks
Many a time in the last few seasons I have gone knowing full well we were going to to win easily. There was no bite or excitement in the game ,and this has transfered to the fans who have been noticably quieter esspecialy in the north stand where I sit. The excitement of beating a top team went away and we all became blase about the outcome.
artie
A good result for Saints who were very lucky not to have a sending off--just the one-- i have never seen wire play as bad as that it reminds me of the Cullen days-they just didnt turn up. They are definately missing Briers -i dont think the combination of Myler and O,brien will work either but a long way to go yet.
Gary
I know it is early days but based on that performance it is going to be a long hard season. We are going to miss Hodgson's goal kicking as much as Lee Briers and Morley.
Sheila_P
To my way of thinking, Hodgson has been our biggest loss. Whenever he took the ball to kick a goal, two points were almost guaranteed. His loss is massive.

Don't forget James Lowes era .... at least Cullen cared.
