Sparky71 Posted February 12, 2008 Report Share Posted February 12, 2008 I know of several companies in the town, one in retail and two in warehousing/manufacturing where they permenantly display "staff wanted" signs outside. They are offering around the minimum of ?5.55 an hour, and it might be boring work, but basically you just have to be punctual and do your job. Why then do we see the same people begging around town. All they would have to do is turn up decent and the job would be theirs. They could be earning ?200 a week plus still being able to claim some benefits. I wonder if swell head and his mates would have been hanging around street corners out of their head on booze and dope if they had just finished a 12 hour shift?
