  1. If someone had offered us a top four finish and a place in both major finals before the season had even started, we'd have all grabbed at it with both hands. Yes, disappointing to lose both finals, but I for one think we've had a great season and thank all the coaches, players and staff for an enjoyable season. Onwards and upwards and already bought my season ticket for next season.
  2. Wigan were my preferred option. Be nice to beat them in the final after losing two finals to them already. Can't wait!
  3. Yes I love to see the coaching team really investing in the emotions of the game as well. Shows they care as much as the players and fans.
  4. Absolutely brilliant. Lineham - two fantastic finishes and great all round performance from the boys. Two finals in Steve's first year in charge - what a great coaching team!
  5. Great reaction from the players although Hull were very poor. You can only play what's infront of you though! Just hope we can get some our our injury niggles cleared up for next week.
  6. It was the most perfect day wasn't it?? And yes, the ground was great and what a fantastic concept to hold both games back to back! Shame Super Benny missed that last kick of the match......
  7. Need to work on setting up a drop goal opportunity and the hooker having 2 options (Roberts and Ratchford) so that the charging defence is split as to who they close down - this way hopefully we'll nail one when we really need to nail one.... Overall, still really pleased with the season thus far.....
  8. If you'd have asked us all before the season started whether we'd have been happy with finishing in the top four at the end of the regular season (before the splits) and be in the CC Semi Final, I'm sure we'd have all taken that every day of the week. Therefore very well done lads - great season thus far and let's hope we can continue into the business end of the season with renewed confidence and hopefully bring home some silverware.
  9. I think Smith was very much about "play what you see" which is all well and good when you had players such as Briers, Monas and Hodgson in the team to create space, but when they disappeared we had no one to replace them. It suited Sandow's play when he came and he was top drawer for us until his demise. Under Price things are far more structured and I think that suits the players we have and the results are there for all to see. LOng may it continue.......
  10. Top result and well deserved. Showed character to come back in 2nd half!
  11. Ha ha yes you're right and I think Castleford were desperate for the game to go ahead as they are already behind in the fixture list. I saw Josh's swan dive in the big puddle at the end of the match - just brilliant! I can't remember the last time we won both Easter fixtures, although I'm sure Gary will remind me if we have done so...... The team are slowly coming together and look strong - onwards and upwards!
  12. Disappointing 1st half but far better showing in the 2nd half and ran out comfortable and worthy winners. Josh showed great finishing prowess to finish off both his tries - he's going to be a great asset to us.
  13. Thx Gary - worth the wait. I had the pleasure of meeting Steve and his assistant coaches recently and found them to be thoroughly nice guys who were very passionate about the club. It was great to see!
  14. Sky are our pay masters and without them where would the game be???
  15. Glad you enjoyed it. As the season gets going it will only get better!
  16. And meet them you did - but even you would never have guessed you'd meet them in a pub!!! Saw both interviews - they both bring a breath of fresh air to the club and I'm very optimistic for the new season.
  17. Very impressed with our recruitment thus far The club need to be congratulated and things looking upwards next season!
  18. With the confirmed signing of Bryson Goodwin and strong rumours linking us to Tyrone Roberts and Ben Murdoch-Masila who made last years "Dream Team", and that Price is about to be confirmed as our new coach - has the revolution finally began?? Gary - you're normally in the know on these things - any insights?? Anyone elso on our radar??
  19. Reports from Down Under suggest that we're about to announce Cronulla Sharks assistant Steve Price as our new coach. Don't know much about him tbh other than what I can read on-line, but he'll get my 100% support as always.......... Up the Wire...
  20. 2nd choice maybe but at least they were in contention for the big jobs so hopefully we'll get someone decent, although we could do with them in sooner rather than later......
  21. Apparently NRL news feed reporting our decision is between Maguire and Pay. Board meeting tomorrow afternoon... Have you heard anything similar Gary or have any other "more accurate" information?
  22. We really need a quick resolution as we've now lost 9 players from this year's squad and have only one replacement confirmed. I think we may have other players coming out of contract that also need sorting soonest. What a mess!!!!
  23. I have now thanks and just heard it. Was it me or did he appear a bit subdued?? If he was he's got nothing to be subdued about - he always gave 100% everytime he was on the pitch and was a great warrior for us.
