Wilderspool Travellers MESS

Dizzy

Recommended Posts

Front page news today saying the large group of travellers have finally moved of the field down River Road, rear of Wilderspool Causeway, after being there for 10 days.  At least they have gone but now there's another lot at Victoria Park, oh and also the ones at Silver Lane again too !!!

http://www.warrington-worldwide.co.uk/2016/07/17/travellers-vacate-one-site-and-move-on-to-victoria-park/

It was obvious the Wilderspool ones would move off this weekend though as the council were due to get a court order against them tomorrow (Monday).

But here's my gripe with this lot...HOW can they get away with accessing a field with their cars/trucks/vans and caravans by DRIVING off a main road near to Brian Bevan Island up, onto and across a large grass verge then down and over more PEDESTRIAN ONLY pathways and grass verges?  Surely that is a chargeable offense especially as they used the same route to go on and off the field too until the small side gate was opened (or 'they' opened it).

Not only have they churned the verges up but also the field so WHY are they not made to pay to put it all right again?

Imagine if any of us had driven across a pedestrian only area to take a short cut or onto the field..... we'd have been arrested and charged for dangerous unlawful driving and probably made to pay to put it right !!!

Here's some photo's taken over the weekend of the Wilderspool lot and the state of the field today after they left.

I couldn't walk down to the field to take more photos of the mess and damage they have done further over due to my sore back.

Bloody disgrace and our council and national politicians pander to these louts and criminals by classing them as a special case that need looking after and need welfare visits... that we are paying for not them.

About time this nonsense about them being protected was scrapped and their vans, cars, caravans confiscated until they pay in full for the damage they cause. If I remember rightly, the Police had to pay for damage to the verges on Cromwell Avenue where the speed camera van used to park before the lay-by was installed so how do the "travellers" get away with it scott free? I think one or more of our forum councillors need to tell us

These people pay nothing into our society, but want the same as us when required ie Doctors/Dentist/Refuse Removal upon their departure.. not to mention rent and council tax free caravan site accomodation, oh and any benefits they can scrounge etc etc.

How about a daily charge for local services of say £500 a day and enforced by some teams of Burly Wheel Clampers...

You just watch them scurry off to some other easy touch council and not return in a hurry

Well credit where credit's due and well done WBC.

As I was driving past today (Tuesday) I noticed the council have already installed concrete bollards on the grass verge (near the island and opposite the church ie area shown in my 3rd photo) that the traveller's drove across to get from the main road down to the field so hopefully that will stop any more doing the same there...unless they go the other way in of course that no doubt they now know about eek.

well no surprises here then.  Front page news tea time tonight....the new group on Victoria Park have also IGNORED their 24 hour notice to leave too so now the council have to apply for a court order to shift them which could take 'several days'.

Seems the Wilderspool lot may have set a new precedent.

a fair comment from bemused on that one, why do we have to apply to halton for a court order.

Should get the court order as soon as they appear and before any "welfare checks" are done. Do welfare checks and if all ok then serve court order there and then.

Should be easy to have a standard draft order set up that you only need to fill in the blanks and then wander over to a judge and get them to sign it.

What firm is the roofing vans signed for, would be nice to know then we know who to avoid when they come knocking and can warn so that they do not get any trade at all.

It is being reported that the loveable rogues will be expected to pay £90 a week to stop on the councils planned £2million camp, as an alternative to crapping in bushes for free and clearing off at the drop of a hat when things get too hot, I don't expect much of an uptake on that idea.

I think the idea is that as the law stands, it means things happen much more quickly because they are given the choice of moving to the site or leaving the Borough. Mind you, given that the police and council don't want to do anything about these bastards even when they've clearly broken the law, you have to wonder what will happen in practice. We all know what would happen if any non-traveller decided to drive across footpaths and churn up land that didn't belong to them before crapping all over it and throwing rubbish everywhere. They know who these people are, so why are they not arrested?

I'm afraid that if a pagga like the one at the Alford Social Club, a traveller christening celebration involving knives, an axe, and much blood and snot didn't result in any convictions, a little criminal damage certainly won't.

And that lot finally left on their own accord on Saturday 23rd as reported on the news page and just before a court order could be obtained ....

http://www.warrington-worldwide.co.uk/2016/07/23/travellers-vacate-victoria-park/

and a day later on the 24th the very same lot make camp on Hardwick Grange.

Bloody ridiculous, how do they simply get away with it !!!

A council that is probably strangled by todays politically correct and ridiculously over protective liberal(hug a hoodie) regimes that have slowly over the years infiltrated all strata of local  government.

That is how low lives can get away with it....

They are laughing in our faces.....

How nice of them....they have now moved off.

http://www.warrington-worldwide.co.uk/2016/07/28/travellers-vacate-hardwick-grange-site-where-next/

Like today's news story asks though 'where next' after all it is Friday tomorrow so nowt the council can do until at least Monday if they do take root somewhere else locally.
