Surprised how little comment this has brought, not only are we loosing yet another building but the cost. There is already a park in the town, if there is money sloshing about in the bank of Warrington Council (and clearly there is) spend it on the facilities that already there.

Anyone would think the council is part of the EU, the way it is just throwing money at stupid projects.

Why are the buildings called Crown Chambers anyone know?

you really ought to do your own homework as you seem to be most concerned.  Try Googling

My lack of reply is simply because I'm still trying to figure out it Crown Chambers building is just the glass fronted one next to the market high level walkway from the car park (demolition of the walkway  started last night) or if building(s) in question now also form part of some of the older ones which front Bridge Street too.

I'm guessing that it's just the glass fronted one but a month or so ago the WG said in one of their news stories that some Grade II Listed Buildings were going as part of the plan.  They often get things wrong though....but alas despite having done my best to read through the councils documents that were  available online it was still not clear what was going and still isn't to me and others that I've spoken to have said the same :(    They council don't make it easy to understand what's going on do they but then again nothing new there.

If it was the glass building it would not be historic I do not think.

I believe it is the white building in the pic Gary posted the link to, consisting of three shops. I guessing that at some point it was one property.

Might be wrong though.

Even if it is the glass building, does the cost justify a park if there is one near by?
