Gary
How do you think Warrington will vote as a town?
Bill
As a town, Warrington should be no different than the rest of the country. It's not really a party political thing and as Warrington has a fairly typical spread of ages, voting should reflect the overall view of the country. observer
Read a piece on Yahoo, showing a map of the UK with coloured areas for pro and anti EU; Warrington was shown as anti - but we can no doubt take that with a pinch of salt. It's more important as to what the overall vote will be, which I guess will be to remain, as project fear will no doubt capture the faint hearted. Amazing really given the facts of what is known, rather than speculation about the unknown, EG: It costs us more than we get out of it; the Euro zone is a complete shambles, held together by a political determination for unification, rather than any economic sanity; the EU has proven totally incapable of protecting it's external borders, hence the current migrant shambles: the Brussels Mandarins can't even get the auditors to sign off on EU accounts. All this will continue, regardless of the UK vote; so the argument to leave will remain.
TomcatComputers8
My view is out, the amount of money we pay to be in the EU could be far better used elsewhere
Sparky71
Everyone I speak to in my family and workmates say they will be voting like me, to leave, so I'm amazed at the polls saying it is slightly in favour of remaining. Cameron says there is a lot of uncertainty in leaving, but what about the uncertainty in staying in? For example, when will our population hit 70 million? Where will we build the Birmingham sized city every 3 years just to accommodate immigration? Where will the facilities for the extra 10 million be, ie landfill sites, reservoirs, roads, schools, doctors, hospitals, gas and electric supplies. I just hope that people will use their heads when they vote and not just follow their party lines such as the drivel spoken by Comrade Corbyn and Charlotte Church. Davy51
There hasn't been any certainty since we joined , the fluidity of the Common Market has meant Britain has been sucked in further & further every year for the benefit of the Eurocrats in charge. We may still even be in the European Free Trade Association that we were members of even before joining the Common Market. We will be free of farming & fishing quotas. Our contributions of £billions will no longer be paid to bail out bad economies of our Euro chums & Interpol will still provide police intelligence towards the safety of our borders. observer
Irrespective of the UK's referendum vote; the writing is on the wall for the demise of the EU; another million migrants this Summer should see to it; Mad Mutti Merkel is now on the ropes in Germany. However, another aspect of migration, that of EU nationals, should also inform opinion: it seems that of all the vagrants sleeping rough on London streets; only 43% are British, even the Poles claim 10%; but with 25% the Romanians form the biggest Euro contingent. Far from getting top jobs and paying top rates of tax (as we we're being told a while back!), these bottom feeders are here to be housed and fed by the UK tax-payer, all in the name of the EU's "free movement" of labour, or rather free movement of scroungers.
Davy51
I think a frightening aspect in Germany is the popularity of right wing fascists in the aftermath of Merkel's disastrous invitation to thousands of migrants into the country. Add to that the fascist leaning countries waiting in the wings to join the EU & the writing could be on the wall for the whole bureaucratic exercise sooner than we think. Just enough time to scribble "Kilroy was here" before we shut the toilet door methinks.
observer
Quite the opposite Dave; it's through the lack of decisive Government that we're in the mess we're in. By it's very nature, the EU is indecisive; it's a collection of self interests served by an unelected political beurocracy; with compromise being the half way house to nowhere. All over the Western World folk are ditching the same old, same old, centre Parties for the so-called extremes; because nothing ever gets sorted and we drift from one crisis to the next. IanW
Everyone I've spoken to is voting to Leave the EU, I don't know anybody who wants to stay. The more I think about it, I can't think of a single reason why we should stay, but I can think of many for leaving.
asperity
The reasons given by the Stay Campaign about the retaliation we will face from the other members if we leave are, in my opinion, reasons why we should leave. Why would we want to be members of a club that dislikes us so much?
Bill
It's the same with me but then again most of us here are oldies so we tend to have more contact with our own age group who share similar views. Bill

I am on the fence with leaving the EU. However the last set of results show immigration rate of 257,000 from EU countries and 273,000 from non EU countries down from 289,000 from 2014 a point missed in news reports on TV http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/uk-migration-six-myths-about-immigration-debunked-as-latest-figures-show-fall-in-non-eu-arrivals-a6895341.html
Freeborn John
What started off as a sensible trading agreement between half a dozen nations with healthy economies, the Common Market, has turned into an oppressive political train wreck, the European Union. We are now in a position in which the UK is effectively run by a committee from other countries and is being used as an economic wiping rag for their own benefit, we should break out of this trap now.
observer
Well Milky, even your modified figures amount to a net influx of over two Warrington's per annum, a million every two years; all arriving in the most densely populated country in Europe. However, I wouldn't trust "official figures", as over a million illegal entrants are not even on Government radars; as they're still arriving in the back of lorries or overstaying student visas, and just disappearing into the crowd. Thanks to the EU free movement of labour policy, any citizen of the EU can travel anywhere, and that anywhere, is to where there are benefits galore. Thanks to EU incompetence and naivity, over a million migrants arrived last year. Interesting that only a minority of the 40,000 migrants sanctioned for deportation, have actually been flown out of the UK (costing HMG unused air fares) due to a lack of Gov Officials to escort them. Still, despite the CBI's own research report supporting BREXIT; I suspect on the day the Labour Party (quiet up till now), will ensure the bundles of ethnic postal votes pile up in favour of staying in the EU.
observer
Seems the runes are in favour of Brexit; as IF we left, there wouldn't be an EU to worry about. Seems the French, Germans, Czechs, Dutch are all asking for in/out referendums now !
TomcatComputers8
Also one thing that has been kept very quiet in all this is a massive oil find in the Weald-basin near london, i wonder if its been kept quiet to sway the vote to stay in the EU, this politics is all a game. Lt Kije
I will be voting to stay in, jobs and inward investment
observer
Jobs? Over a million indigenous youngsters unemployed; zero hour contracts etc. Inward Investment? So no foreign company would want to sell goods into the world's 5th largest economy or trade on it's richest stock market ?!
Lt Kije
Ops, I had no idea zero hour contracts had anything to do with the EU, companies invest here to gain access to the single market, investment brings jobs. America, China and lots of other countries said they either want us to stay in, or they would NOT be interested in doing a trade deal with the UK alone!!
observer
The 5th biggest economy in the world provides a huge market, do you actually believe that other trading nations would ostracise it? Zero hour contracts have to do with the types of jobs being provided at the moment, so I can't actually see how you can say the EU has brought full employment - jobs.
Davy51
If anything, the EU & its cheap labour from the east has given many large companies the necessary means to displace British workers with drafted in foreigners ,all under the guise of dodgy redundancy situations. I know many people who have been made redundant on a Friday only to be replaced by foreigners on a Monday ,in what is supposed to be a redundancy situation.Redundancy should mean the job no longer exists. It is these displaced British workers who are eating into the welfare budget, providing they haven't been sanctioned.
Lt Kije
America has stated publicly No trade deal, China also. Davy if we leave the EU, we would have to join EFTA, if we join EFTA you are still subject to free movement of Labour, ask Norway!!! Lots of ignorance on the outside of this debate, Just to add over 50% of our trade goes to the Eu, so we would have to join EFTA if we left, or would you all put that at risk
