Evil Sid Posted December 19, 2013 Report Share Posted December 19, 2013 Not seen a pc round here for ages, seen plenty of traffic wardens and the odd pcso but that is about it so i suppose pc performance here is poor. (sorry couldn't help myself, had to get Mrs Sid to lend a hand) I know that these things are waste of time. most windows 7 pc have thing called performance monitor which tests all the functions and gives you an overall score rating based on the lowest. mine hs not changed since i bought this PC a few years back and that is despite adding two extra hard drives a new monitor and a few other bits and bobs. Latchford Locks Posted January 5, 2014 Report Share Posted January 5, 2014 A new very annoying pop up takes over the whole screen when I view certain threads it tells me to update Java then avast tells me its a virus ! reader Posted January 5, 2014 Report Share Posted January 5, 2014 At the moment if you are worried about security and want a decent browser download Comodo Dragon. It is in fact Chrome but with extra security and some of the Google invasive stuff removed. Its quicker on page loads than any of the current stuff put out such as Firefox 27, Internet Explorer 11, Google Chrome 31 etc (I am not uptodate on Opera) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

One or two on others with annoying adverts which won't go away no matter what anti-ad programmes I try, but a minor inconvenience as I find Chrome fast enough to load most things I use. Sha Posted April 9, 2015 Report Share Posted April 9, 2015 Whilst browsing the internet (on google) the site I was looking at disappeared and a page appeared saying it was a "message from Google" it said it had detected unusual activity on my computer and it wanted to check if I was a person or machine or if another, linked computer was browsing at the same time. Bill Posted April 12, 2015 Report Share Posted April 12, 2015 All the programs that tell you your PC is running slow are simply unwanted advertisements trying to get you to pay them for something you don't particularly need. Fact of life is that most PC's over their lifetime tend to slow down somewhat due mainly to the sheer amount of updates or build up of crud on the processor heat sink. So if your PC is indeed running slow, my advice is, if it's old then either scrap it or give it a good clean out and fit some additional memory.
