  1. Event: Quiz Night Location: St Oswald's Social Club, Padgate - 7.30pm to late Details: Come and join us for a great night out! Put your general knowledge to the test with our quiz – teams of 2 up to 6 - and have fun taking part in our prizes raffle and stand-up bingo! Admission to the quiz is £2 per person and for an extra £1.50 treat yourself to a delicious pie and peas supper.

Date: 11th May Location: Centre for Independent Living, Beaufort Street - Warrington Details: This eagerly-anticipated event gives you the opportunity to raise funds through sponsorship for a charity of YOUR choice! This could be a local school, youth group or a charity you avidly support. If you prefer, you are welcome to pay the registration fee and simply take part for the enjoyment value and exercise. The walk will start and end at our Centre for Independent Living on Beaufort Street. Enjoy a casual stroll or a brisk walk round Sankey Valley Park - covering a total distance of 3 miles. Please note that walkers can choose their own distance and pace. A variety of stalls will be serving refreshments on the day - as well as activities and games for all ages. Registration is just £5 per person with all participants receiving a medal and certificate for their efforts. All funds raised on the day (apart from any sponsorship raised for individual groups) will go towards supporting the work of Warrington Disability Partnership (WDP).   7. Date: 1st March Location: Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub - 4pm to 8pm. Details: Calling all swimmers! Would you like to take the plunge and do something enjoyable - and at the same time raise some money for us? If this sounds appealing, why not make a splash for cash at our sponsored swim event at Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub where participants will be challenged to swim a total of 64 lengths of the swimming pool! However, for those individuals who feel that is a length too far you can still take part and set your own individual challenge.   11. Daten Bridge Club will be running lessons for absolute beginners. starting on September 24th at Culcheth Sports Club. Starting at 7.30 p.m. There will be 20 weekly sessions. Cost is £3 per session. First five sessions payable upfront To express an interest email joseph.ridyard@gmail.com or ring 01925767187 Places strictly limited. First 20 cheques received will reserve a place.
  12. I was quite shocked to see some of the varying fuel prices in Warrington. Diesel prices at the filing station on Crosfield Street £148.9 A couple of miles down the road at Lane Ends, Penketh £136.9 A difference of 12p a litre!!!! I tend to avoid the supermarkets because I am told they use inferior fuel which ends up costing you more in the long run. Just wondering what price variations other readers had noticed - or do you just fill up without looking? If prices vary by as much as 12p a litre I suggest you start taking notice - as motoring costs are expensive enough!
