No conspiracy theory - I just wasn't aware of the above (I missed the post as well) and knew it as going bump for some time - but was awaiting the official statement from OFgem while all other avenues were being explored behind the scenes.

Dizzy looked into trying to do re-designs and gave up a long time ago - it took weeks of work to even get the banner at the top to link back to the main site. I am sure there are much better forums but not really enough active members to warrant a fresh start- and old foggies generally don't like change

Thanks for your efforts Bill. As far as I am aware this forum just comes as a standard template and I have no idea on how to change the appearance. Having just spent a significant sum of money improving the main site that is where we are investing our time as it attracts 10K to 20k visitors every day, generating significant advertising income streams to keep us afloat. No disrespect to the forum but I reckon there are only around 20-30 active members and while important and indeed some old friends, until facebook departs I can't see it having a huge impact on the overall website experience.

Well the first change was the mast heading - now bold red with a strap line under the logo which is white out of read - the old one was red ona white background. We have also changed the font colours from grey to black and increased them to improve readability. All front page articles are now double column with an intro. The top news stories also have an image whereas before they did - it was just a list of articles. We have now also created a facility where the biggest news story of the day/week can be pinned at the top. We have also introduced page turning technology to the online magazines alongside the traditional pdfs for those still using older browsers. We have also changed one of our ad partners from rev content to Taboola who work with many of the nationals, which combines adverts with relevant articles from our website. So as you can see a lot of work has been going on behind the scenes. Less obvious to see on a mobile but should be a huge difference on a desk top or tablet! BUMP!

The final tweaks have now been pretty much completed - any one spot some of the new features and adaptions - some are subtle. But overall I have to say I am pretty chuffed with what has been achieved - and online revenues are already improving without distracting further from the reader experience than the existing adverts. Feedback appreciated.

Hi Bill - more than happy to make you a moderator as you have matured with age 😬 It is all pretty self explanatory although the main problem is working out if someone is a spammer as they are all clever enough to register with a spam ranking of 1 which says they aren't likely to be spammers when 99 per cent of them are! Usually their log in location is the biggest clue! Getting out for a pint is easier said than done with my current running challenge, which means I am doing a 5k every other day! I can't see any activity from the ndew members and I haven't worked out how to welcome them either. One of the old boards use to make it easy to announce and new member and throw them to the lions lol
