Thank you guys your all fab!! I haven't actually read those stories yet as i haven't the time right now....also i'm alone at this moment in time and I don't want to feel scared!! Not too many strange things go on in this house and it's not regular either sometimes nothing will happen for a long time. When my first child started talking properly she had an ''imaginary friend'' however something she said to me when I was bathing her made me feel that she was talking to something that she shouldn't be that scared me to death!! When I first moved into this house was when I experienced the most, I went to bed alone one night unable to wake my husband who'd fell asleep on the couch (HOW MANY MEN DO THIS??) Anyway I was lay in bed and heard what sounded like a man whistling outside my door I ran down stairs with my eyes shut and slept on the couch! I have been in the bathroom and heard someone running really hard up the stairs, my heart stopped i'm telling you...i was the only one in the house. I was sat in the kitchen once with my first daughter who was three at the time my step daughter and my baby who was in her pram, this was around the time my little girl was ''seeing things'', all of the cupboards in the kitchen opened slightly and rattled then stopped this has to be the strangest thing to me as it was something physical.....straight afterwards my litte girl moved the pram and said I don't want it to get our baby, it wants our baby, then her eyes drew towards the hall and she was hysterical asking ''whats that??'' after that nothing happened for ages and my daughter doesn't see things anymore and she doesn't remember it. The only things i've experienced since then is a voice saying ''yes'' in my ear it sounded like a woman, I heard what sounded like someone sitting on my bed when I was downstairs ( it creaks when you sit on it) however this couldn't have been possible and lastly i've felt something grab my ankle when I was sat on the couch I don't know if something else could possibly have caused that sensation or not This house can be creepy but only sometimes, I have heard several other people on this estate complain about strange goings on in their houses too!!

For the love of God ha! that scared me to death until I read the bottom part of your post!! Thats part of the reason why I want to know ghost stories and about the barracks etc, as I never believed in anything supernatural until I moved into this house... feel like i'm going mad sometimes....maybe I am oh well!! Anyway nothing untoward seemed to happen at the old barracks so I doubt we have an old soldier as a resident ghost! I will have another look round to see if I can find any books of his. thanks

Am I the only one who thinks that the zebra crossing on O'leary Street is a waste of time???? This should be a pelican crossing instead. Drivers just don't bother to stop!! Not only that but quite a few speed too! it's a dangerous road and I don't think that many drivers take into consideration the children crossing to and from school, as they are in a rush to get to work or pick up their kids from school. Something needs to be done about this!!!

I have submitted a post about the barracks on here I didn't realise there was already one on here. I live on Cabul Close next to the Barracks and was interested to know if the land used to form a part of it... i now know it does this information has been helpful although I would like to know more about it myself

Thats fab thank you! Its certainly a start, and has in way answered my question. I would love to find more out about orford Barracks though but I just don't know where to look? I want to know how it formed, what the site consisted of, what they did on there and how it came to be what it is now. I'm too inquisitive lol

Have definitely heard of him and I know that he's written books however I think they have been archived at the library

Does anybody know what used to occupy the grounds surrounding the T.A Barracks in Warrington? I live in Cabul Close right next to it and i'm interested in what was here before, i have tried to look it up on the internet but haven't come up with anything? Hope someone knows! lol Thank you

I have read historical books about Warrington and Lancashire and it has an incredible history and also some very old and historical buildings. So it seems to me that there must be some stories somewhere!! However I can't find any?! Does anyone know of any stories and where can I find them? Thank you
