  1. April sees is celebrating 25 years of Warrington Worldwide online - Where did that time go? It has been quite a journey and I suspect the forum will be 25 years old in another year or two. Big thank you to those of you who are still around and have been part of our journey. Shame social media came along as it certainly impacted the forum - although for finding stuff out from the past this still knocks spots off social media - hence we have kept it going. More about our 25 years in the link below and some congratulations messages from those we have worked with over the years! Celebrating 25 years of Warrington Worldwide and messages of Congratulation

  2. the one time i used self service i ended up with the woman who was there to help hovering around me. five items and before i even scanned one she had to come over to help. it was the i use my own bags bit on the screen, pressed that and put my bag on the side ready and all these alarms started going off. it seems that it does not recognise a rucksack as a bag so spat it's dummy out until she overrode it. oh and they don't like you trying to scan a 32" telly through the self service either as one guy last week found out. i try not to use it as i like to keep the checkout people in a job and also the supermarket people wont give me a discount for doing theirs for them. maybe i am getting more rebellious as i get older....

  3. The current situation in Gaz beggars belief - The Israelis have basically blocked off any supplies to the Palastinians trapped in Gaza, and everyone else is complaining of them being starved to death. The Yanks have dropped supplies by air, and are now constructing a sea port; but sufficient supply trucks are lined up on the Egyptian border to feed them. The US could end this overnight, by just telling the Israelis to allow the trucks in, or have their arms supplies blocked. They try to call Netanyanu an extremist for pursuing a genocide policy in Gaza, but the reality is that over 70% of Israelis agree with the eradication of Hammas and as a consequence, 1.5 million Palastinians. Ironically, what we're seeing is the people who suffered from the Nazi holocaust, now inflicting one on the Arabs.

  4. career politicians now run all the parties, with possibly one or two exceptions. That being the case then the difference between the parties is practically zero as the politicians strive to get as much money as they can in their own pockets. or so it seems to a lot of people i have spoken to lately. Civil servants run the country with the politicians as at best an overseer at worst a figure head for the department, either way they are the ones thrown to the wolves when it goes belly up. the civil servants just carry on doing whatever it is they do without any of the consequences settling on them. The chancellor of the exchequer doesn't sit at home with his calculator working out what to tax or what to fund, he just presents what the civil servants in his department give him. he may have some input but only in a general sense as do probably the majority of politicians in all departments. they are just the 'public' voice for their department. That is possibly the galling thing about politicians, they resign from their job but are still employed as politicians in a different department at the same rate of pay. as the old joke says "how can you tell a politician is lying?" "their lips move".....

  5. I thought the story of the electric car doing 100mph that couldn’t stop and that also had no brakes sounded a bit hard to believe. Seems now that the driver has been arrested, not only for dangerous driving but also being a public nuisance and that sounds like he was trying to blame the car rather than accept the fact that he was speeding. It was his first day in a new job with a brand-new car, and driving in excess of 100 would almost certainly result in him losing both, so maybe he thought he had nothing to lose by fibbing about it. Bill 😊

  6. This scam is well known enough to be on full fact: Fake ‘BBC article’ falsely claims Robert Peston sued over promoting investment scheme - Full Fact If Facebook won't remove it the most likely reason is probably that the party inserting the information are paying Facebook. That is essentially an abuse, but seems common. Honestly I think only the Advertising Standards Authority can do anything since they can target the actual advertiser beyond Facebook.

  7. With protests over Gaza blocking London streets every week, is it any surprise that folk criticise this demographic ?

  8. Seems with the Lee Anderson suspension; we now have a protected demographic, immune from criticism using the Islamaphobia and race card, while protesting over issues that we can't influence or control, they interfere with our political system and with us. Just to illustrate how distant our woke MPs are from the indigenous Brits, we have the commons speaker blaming "white fundementalists" for the current strife. If those "white fundementalists" don't step up to the plate, and challenge sectarianism, they will loose their Country and way of life. While 3 MPs have now been given personal bodyguards and vehicles, at our expense; the woke politicians are blaming "the far right" which nowadays refers to the majority of Brits. The far right have todate been responsible for two incidents against MPs, while mob intimidation by Muslim protesters is rife throughout the Capital. 😠
